• Teaching HSA 5023 - Introduction to Higher Education and Student Affairs - Fall 2024

  • Learning Outcomes included: students will provide an understanding of the historical and       philosophical influences and organizational structures which have guided the evolution       of the student affairs profession; explore the purpose, organization and functions                   (functional areas) within student affairs, and the profession’s relationship to the                       academic (researchers) community; increase awareness of the current socio-cultural             issues central to student affairs; be acquainted with the various professional                             organizations, journals, and research sources in the field; and learn how to integrate             social justice into all we do and how we serve students.

• Taught HSA 5003 - History of Higher Education in America - Summer 2024

  • Learning Outcomes included: students will have working knowledge of higher education         institutions and practices since the 17th century; understanding this evolution in the               context of major socio-political and cultural movements; and describe the impact of this       history and critical contexts on today’s administrators and institutions. 

• Taught HSA 6513 - Introduction to Student Services in Community College - Spring 2024

  • Created class/syllabus – Class was new to the program/degree plan.

  • Learning Outcomes included: students will describe the historical development of the               community college; explain the comprehensive mission of colleges; explain the various         functions of the community college specifically student affairs; and apply information           and skills learned as a practitioner within the higher education landscape.
